The Annual Franklin Halloween Bash

The annual Franklin Halloween Bash will be taking place Saturday October 28th from 6-8 PM.  The Bash is a wonderful community event featuring games with prizes, arts and crafts, a haunted house (that closes at 7 PM so don’t miss it!) fortune tellers, a photo booth, a dance party and snacks. In addition to being a part of this great Franklin tradition, all proceeds go to the PTO to support academic programs and initiatives to enrich our school at Franklin. We hope you can make it and look forward to seeing you there!  .

Tickets can be purchased in advance for savings and to avoid long lines on the night of the event. Tickets are $6 per person / $23 Family Pass. You can purchase tickets here: https://franklinptonewton.wufoo.com/forms/2017-franklin-halloween-bash/

Flyers will also be sent out to your student’s classroom with an order form for tickets on the bottom to be returned in your student’s folder.

Tickets can also be purchased the night of the Bash at the door for $7 per person and $25 per family!

Snack Donations

To keep event costs manageable, we ask that families donate snacks for the event. Donations can be dropped off in the school office at any time.

Here are some suggestions:

  • Kindergarten and 1st grade:  Small packs of dried fruit or small boxes of regular or yogurt covered raisins,
  • 2nd grade: Individual packages of Goldfish or Honey Grams
  • 3rd grade: Individual packages of pretzels or Pirates Booty
  • 4th & 5th grade: Individual packages of popcorn, Sun Chips, Cheez Its etc.

These are only suggestions and please nothing containing nuts or tree nuts.

Volunteers
This event relies heavily on parent participation to make this a success, We can’t do it without you! Please consider giving an hour or two of your time to making this a great event for the kids,

Welcome!

Greetings Franklin Families:

 On behalf of the Franklin PTO, we would like to warmly welcome all new and returning families to the 2017-18 school year!  We hope you are excited about this upcoming year at Franklin.  The PTO Board would like to update you on some important information and pass along some dates to add to your calendars.

 The goals of the Franklin PTO are to build community at Franklin, support relationships between families and educators, promote communication within our school community, and raise funds to be used to enhance our children’s school experiences.  In order for the PTO to be effective, we need your participation!  Did you know that as a parent or guardian of a student at Franklin you are automatically a member of the PTO? The beginning of the school year is a great time to think about what each of us can do to help our children, their teachers, and the Franklin community build an even more enriching, nurturing, and welcoming environment for everyone.

 With that in mind, we will be kicking off our JustOne Campaign in the coming weeks.  If each family is able to volunteer to do JustOne thing for the school (be it big or small!) then Franklin will be an even better place to learn.

Here are some important dates for the first few weeks of school:

  • Fri, Sep 8 – Principal Coffee (Q&A w/principal & parents), 8:40am in the cafeteria;
  • Wed, Sep 13 – Picture Day;
  • Wed, Sep 13 – Back to School Picnic, 6:00-7:30pm (rain date: Thurs, Sep 14); and
  • Tues, Sep 26 – Back to School/Curriculum Night, 6:00-7:30pm

Finally, please be on the lookout for an email regarding further volunteer opportunities for the 2017-18 school year.  There are many opportunities for families to participate and help, and we thank you in advance for your time and energy in making the Franklin community enriching and fun for everyone.
